Exterior Painting

Exterior painting can be a real task as there is a lot of preparation that a exterior painter can handle for you. Hiring a professional can save you time, money, a lot of headaches and complete the job much faster than trying to complete the exterior painting project yourself. While painting the exterior of your home, we take care of your home and belongings using the following steps:

First our Exterior Painter will protect

  • Cover ground and plantings with drop cloths and thoroughly clean the work area upon completion
  • Protect roof and non-painted areas from paint drops

Second our Exterior Painter will prepare

  • Scrape and sand all loose paint
  • Most houses are power-washed to remove dirt and mildew, providing a clean surface for the paint to adhere to; the house is allowed to dry out after washing to ensure all moisture has escaped
  • Chemical stripping of wood as needed to remove excess paint buildup, or failing paint (we are also experienced in dealing with lead paint)

Finally our Exterior Painter will apply

  • All joints receive silicone caulking to prevent moisture from penetrating behind wood
  • Oil primer is applied to all bare wood before the top coat, improving adhesion and helping to block out cedar bleed
  • 98% of surfaces are painted brushes, rollers and or sprayers to ensure you receive a nice equal finished product

Exterior Painter Warranty

Xtreme Paint And Stain warrants Exterior Painter labor for a period of 90 days from the completion date of the Exterior Painter work or we will return to touch up free of charge. We cannot guarantee a completely smooth paint finish over surfaces where multiple coats have been previously applied unless we are contracted to remove all prior coats prior to our initial project start. This also excludes peeling on smooth side cedar clapboards due to millglazing. Definition Millgaze is "A wax-like film is left on surface of wood during milling process."
